Program Overview Established in 2005, the Crisis Residential Program (CRP) at Natale provides a safe, structured setting where adult patients with urgent/emergency needs can receive crisis stabilization. The CRP at Natale provides interim rehabilitative care and support to individuals with mental illness as an alternative to more restrictive inpatient admissions. When inpatient admission has occurred, the CRP at Natale strives to shorten the length of stay by providing a structured and supportive transition back to the community. This comprehensive residential treatment program is effective for stabilizing symptoms and providing a basis for on-going aftercare treatment for individuals with severe mental illness. The psychiatric rehabilitation programs within the residential component embody best practices and Community Support Programs (CSP) values. The CRP at Natale is licensed by the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Located in the Leaman Center on Elwyn's 400-acre Media campus, the CRP at Natale is a short-term program for adults with a mental illness in an acute phase. The first-of-its-kind in Delaware County, the CRP at Natale is a therapeutic treatment option for individuals with acute psychiatric disorders who need a structured environment for stabilization and rehabilitation. The CRP at Natale offers a multi-disciplinary evaluation and rapid stabilization, with the result that individuals can avoid more costly and restrictive inpatient hospitalization. As a step-up/down solution, the CRP at Natale is also a viable option for individuals who no longer meet inpatient criteria, but who need further treatment before returning to community life. All persons admitted to the CRP at Natale receive 24 hour a day supervision with clinical interventions and psychiatric rehabilitation principals that are highly individualized and targeted to specific symptoms and/or behaviors. The Crisis Residential Program at Natale is licensed by the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. |
