Supported Living Residences
The Adult Residential Behavioral Health Services operates three Supported Living Residences in Delaware and Philadelphia Counties.
Parkside Place, which is located in Parkside, Delaware County, is home to six individuals in recovery from mental illness and who have a co-occurring substance abuse or developmental disability. Opened in December 1999, the program structure contains four 2-bedroom apartment units. Three units accommodate two residents, each occupying his or her own bedroom. The fourth unit was renovated to offer a communal kitchen and dining room. This common space is used as a multi-purpose area to accommodate all manner of group activities.
Springfield Gardens is on Springfield Avenue in Philadelphia. Opened in September 2005, this program serves individuals in recovery from mental illness and also have a developmental disability. Community Integration programming and the development of Support for Living Plans ensure successful integration into community life for these people.
Unity Villa is located in the historical district of Germantown, Philadelphia. It is a 24-bed, apartment-style, supported independent living program. Opened in June 2002, three large homes were renovated and converted to apartments to provide nine apartments. This program was created as part of a regional five County initiative. The program serves a diverse population with some complex forensic, medical and behavioral challenges. The Unity Villa program employs a Ph.D.-level licensed consulting psychologist who assists in developing Support for Living Plans and specialized behavioral interventions.
