Community Residential Rehabilitation/Host Home (CRR) Foster Care
An innovative approach to meeting the intense needs of youth who have chronic and significant behavioral, emotional, and/or developmental challenges, this program serves as a step-down from, or alternative to, residential treatment facility care or hospitalization. Youth receive 24-hour supervision in a structured foster home along with active treatment through a blend of home and center-based therapeutic interventions and services provided directly by Elwyn CRR staff. Successful educational programming through community school placements is our goal for all youth.
Treatment Foster Care (TFC)
Designed as a step-down from residential treatment, TFC meets the special needs of children and adolescents who exhibit significant or acute behavioral and emotional difficulties, but do not require a CRR level of care. Youth receive 24-hour supervision in a highly structured foster home with trained foster parents who can devote individualized parenting, care and support to the child to meet their theraputic and community-based goals. Case management services are provided by Elwyn with mental health supports secured via community Outpatient and Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (BHRS) providers. Successful educational programming through community school placements is our goal for all youth. Most children attend neighborhood schools.
Foster Family Care
Traditional Foster Family Care is provided in loving and nurturing foster families for children who require out of home placement. Many of the children have experienced neglect, abuse, chaotic or unstable living environments prior to coming into our care. Because of their experiences, many of the children in this level of care are coping with attachment challenges, development and social delays, learning disabilities, minor emotional, behavioral, or educational challenges. Some of the children served through our program have siblings in our CRR or TFC programs, enabling them to have continued close contact. Children are typically able to function in a community setting with foster parent support and Elwyn Foster Care case management services.
