Description of Services


Elwyn’s Education programs foster collaborative working relationships with families, students and communities. Educational programming is designed to support each student in achieving his or her maximum potential, in preparing to live and work independently, and in building self-determination, purpose and independence.

Elwyn’s Division of Education provides a rich learning environment for students ranging in age from 3 to 21 years. Educational programming is available for students with special needs including:

  • physical and mental disabilities
  • mental retardation
  • sensory impairments
  • social-emotional and behavioral challenges
  • communications difficulties
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • medically fragile
  • academically at-risk students

Education programs are designed to provide:

  • on-going assessment
  • instruction
  • life-skills development
  • communication and social skills training
  • adjunctive therapies
  • behavior support
  • community inclusion
  • transitional skills training

In addition, the Education Division is a resource to families, other school entities, agencies and communities through the Department of Training and Technical Assistance and the Family Friends Program.
