Elwyn, An Organization that Provides Day Programs for Adults with Disabilities, has Announced the Date for Their Annual Friends and Family Day

day programs for adults with disabilitiesCalifornia – April, 2017 – Elwyn, a leader in day programs for adults with disabilities, has announced that its annual Friends and Family Day will be held on May 17th, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. The event, which has evolved wonderfully over the years, will feature vendors from several valuable community resource groups, such as DOR, the Red Cross, and Alzheimer’s Orange County (AOC).

Between 130 and 150 people are expected to come to this year’s event, which is held to promote awareness and bring together the community. Many of the program’s 300+ members live in group homes and many have no close family. However, each year the staff at Elwyn is delightedly surprised by who does show up, including distant uncles and cousins.

At this year’s Friends and Family Day, the on-site Day Program will be hosting a bake sale. Friends and Family Day has been a huge success since making a comeback during the 40th anniversary celebration, and has become a highly-anticipated event each May.

Friends and Family Day kicks off some exciting events for 2017, including Christmas in July and the Fall Fling – Rock’n Fifties. The Fall Fling will be held in Garden Grove, CA on September 23rd, at the Great Wolf Lodge to support California area programs. Follow us on Facebook for details.
