The Strine Student Transition Center serves students ages 18–21 with autism, intellectual disabilities, and related support needs who are preparing to transition from school to adulthood. Students are typically referred through their home school district as part of their transition planning process.

Students build real-world skills that support greater independence and future employment. Training includes work readiness, communication, problem-solving, budgeting, daily living skills, social skills, and community participation. Students gain hands-on experience through the student-run café, business center, technology lab, creativity center, apartment living space, and community-based learning opportunities.

The Strine Student Transition Center provides an immersive, real-world learning environment where students practice skills in settings that mirror adult life and employment. Rather than focusing solely on academics, the program combines classroom instruction with hands-on experiences that prepare students for meaningful work, independent living, and active participation in their communities.

The program helps students build confidence, independence, and practical skills that support employment, community engagement, and adult life. The goal is to prepare each student for their next step, whether that includes competitive employment, volunteer opportunities, further education, or increased independence at home and in the community.
