MEDIA, PA – December 16, 2020 — Elwyn, the internationally-recognized nonprofit human service organization, has elected June Elcock-Messam, MD, FAAP and Valerie Harrison, PhD to the Elwyn Board of Directors. Elwyn is privileged to have Dr. Elcock-Messam and Dr. Harrison as the newest members on its board of directors. “The dedicated and distinguished careers of Dr. Elcock-Messam and Dr. Harrison speak volumes of their abilities to serve on the Elwyn Board,” said Charles McLister, President and CEO of Elwyn. “We are delighted to announce these appointments and welcome June and Valerie to our community.”
June Elcock-Messam, MD, FAAP is the President of Media Pediatrics in Wallingford, PA and specializes in child abuse pediatrics. She also serves as the Clinical Director of the Child Protection Program and a core faculty member of the Pediatric Residency Program at Crozer Chester Medical Center. Dr. Elcock-Messam received her BS from Haverford College and MD from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. “I was delighted and honored by the invitation to join the Elwyn Board of Directors and to contribute to a nationally known organization recognized for the quality of its services,” said Dr. Elcock-Messam.
Valerie Harrison, PhD is Senior Advisor to the President at Temple University where she provides guidance on a range of matters with primary responsibility for centralizing and strengthening the university’s efforts around Title IX and sexual misconduct, diversity, equity, inclusion, and various other compliance matters. Dr. Harrison received her BA from the University of Virginia, JD from the Charles Widger School of Law at Villanova University, and MLA and PhD from Temple University. “Elwyn has a fundamentally important mission to enrich the lives of those with diverse challenges, and I am glad to be a part of supporting that mission,” said Dr. Harrison.
