As part of a comprehensive wellness program, Elwyn’s clinical nutritionists assist the children and adults who receive services through our Media Campus programs and Community Residential Programs in Delaware and Chester counties. Our Nutritionists are licensed dietitians, who perform nutritional assessments and develop individualized programs for residents with special dietary needs in addition to providing nutritional counseling and education. They work with primary care physicians, nursing services, physical rehabilitation therapists, and other members of the direct care team to support the holistic approach to health care that is practiced at Elwyn. Clinical nutritionists are available to provide the following services:
- Nutritional assessments
- Development of specialized programs for individuals with diabetes and other health issues (such as obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, skin care issues, and other genetic and metabolic disorders)
- Nutritional counseling and education
- Meal monitors
- Development of seasonal menu
- Coordination with Morrison Senior Dining’s Dietary Department regarding daily menus and meals for special occasions
Nutritionists are registered dietitians (RD) or RD Eligible, and licensed in the state of Pennsylvania.
Who Is Eligible
Nutrition services are available to those individuals who reside in Elwyn residential programs.

Nutrition services are included in the per diem for individuals who participate in theIntermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) program and by contract for residents funded by other sources. Elwyn’s nutrition services are not currently covered by third party insurers.
