A New Chapter for Community-Based Residential Care in Massachusetts

Elwyn and community partners recently celebrated the opening of the Mendes Monteiro House in Dartmouth, MA—a new supportive living program for older adults living with behavioral health challenges and disabilities. The residence offers 24-hour onsite support in a home-like environment that fosters independence, connection, and stability.

Built in Partnership

Developed in collaboration with Partners in Housing and the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH), the program honors longtime housing advocates Joseph Mendes and Joseph Monteiro. As the service provider, Elwyn supports residents with daily skills, community integration, and person-centered care.

About the Residence

Supporting Individuals and Strengthening Communities
