Cathy Roccia-Meier, MPP

Parent Advisor

Cathy has been a Special Advisor for Elwyn since 2010.  She is the parent of a young man on the autism spectrum, Vice president for Autism Sharing and Parenting, and the Project Director of Leadership Development at the Institute on Disabilities and Temple University.  She provides training and technical assistance for families and individuals with disabilities across the state, teaching families to use their voice, and is a content expert on special education, family engagement and peer support models that embed cultural humility.  She has been an active advocate in the School District of Philadelphia and across the state for her son and others, is a peer compliance monitor for the Pennsylvania Department of Education, has served as Chairperson for the Philadelphia Local Right to Education Task Force and currently serves as a Philadelphia representative and Chairperson on Pennsylvania's Special Education Advisory Panel.  Ms. Roccia-Meier holds a bachelor's degree in Strategic Communication and a master's degree in Public Policy from Temple University.
